The real estate market has been heating up for over a year now and it’s not showing any signs of cooling down any time soon. Home prices are on the rise in Nixa and inventory is getting low. And if you’re a Nixa resident you’ve probably seen all the new construction in Nixa popping up around town. The newest project that’s up and coming is a new Stu Stenger development in Southwest Nixa called Oakhurst.
What we know about Oakhurst
It will be approximately 81.89 acres between S Norton Rd and Gregg Rd. If you live in my neighborhood of Forest Park it’s the land directly South of us and East of Rolling Hills Subdivision. As you can see from the preliminary plat pictured above Oakhurst will be a mixed zoning of R1 single family residential, R3 Multi-Family Residential and NC Neighborhood Commercial. Presently this is in the application process with the City of Nixa.
What’s next for Oakhurst?
There will be a “Neighborhood Meeting” on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at The Center, 701 N. Taylor Way, Nixa, Missouri 65714. Any questions or concerns about the proposed project can be answered in advance of the City of Nixa public hearings.
Here are the following dates:
Monday, April 2, 2018. Planning & Zoning Commission Public Hearing and Vote.
Monday, April 23, 2018. City Council Public Hearing.
Tuesday, May 29, 2018. City Council Vote.
All meetings will be held at Nixa City Hall, 715 W. Mt. Vernon, Nixa, Missouri 65714 at 7:00 pm
No word yet on the price range of these new construction homes in Nixa or when they are planning to break ground but I will update this page as I get more details about Oakhurst subdivision in Nixa.
February 22 Update: 2 Subdivisions Planned next to Forest Park
I spoke with Travis Cossey with the City of Nixa to see if I could get anymore details on this new proposed development. And that’s just about all he was able to tell. He said it still very much in the planning and annexation phase right now. He was unable to provide any information on price range or style. He did say Stu Stenger has 2 other projects he’s currently working on – Eagle Park and Meadowbrook. According to Travis Cossey he does not think it likely that they will be breaking ground immediately after getting final approval from the City of Nixa.
The Meadowbrook subdivision is going up just East of Forest Park off of Norton Rd. I will post the link to the plans here. This subdivision was approved back on June 19,2017. It looks like they are waiting for improvements to Norton Rd to be finished before construction can begin on Meadowbrook.
So as it stands right now, it doesn’t look like bulldozers will be starting on Oakhurst anytime soon. But it certainly seems Forest Park is going to be seeing a lot of changes very soon.
